Happy 6 months, Pretty Girl! Well, Miss Smiley is now 6 months old and still lovin' life. This grin in the picture is one we see often. While she certainly can cry, we get smiles out of her easily, which is a joy. I'll take Emory in for her 6 month check when we get back from Minnesota so I don't have any stats. But here's what she's up to at 6 months:
- Solids! We started solids about a month ago and she's enjoying everything we've tried so far. She eats squash, sweet potato, peas, green beans and rice cereal. Yummm. Once we get settled into DC I'll start making her baby food like I did with Brook. Blender and Ice Tray will become my good friends again. :)
- Almost sitting up. She's getting closer to sitting up on her own but isn't quite there. She'll make it about 10 seconds before toppling to the side.
- She can roll over both ways but has little interest in it, so most of her time is spent laying on her back or side and playing or sitting up in her exersaucer.
- Sleep is sort of consistent, but nothing set in stone yet (oh, I look forward to that day). She goes down around 8 or 8:30 and
used to wake up between 6 and 7. These last couple weeks of moving and traveling have thrown her off quite a bit and we've seen lots of 5 am wake ups and, while we've been in Minnesota, she's even been waking up during the night a couple times. Oh friends, it is hard to go back to that after getting used to sleeping through the night. We let her cry it out last night and she went back to sleep on her own, so hopefully the end of night waking will come soon. She takes 3 naps a day and those still vary in length; 45 minutes to an hour and a half. So, all in all, she's a good sleeper just not very predictable yet.
- And, last but not least, she is still highly entertained by her older sister. I continue to think Brook is doing something that's going to send Emory to tears only to hear her bust out in giggles. It's adorable to watch! It's fun to see how much the girls love eachother and makes me excited for them to play together as Emory gets a little older.
We love you, Sweet Emory!
